Abdoulaye Nderguet

Abdoulaye Nderguet, affectionately known as the "Nightingale of Chad," is one of Chad’s most celebrated vocalists and composers. Born in N'Djamena in 1972 and raised in Sarh, he abandoned university biology studies to dedicate his life to music. Renowned for a wide vocal range that effortlessly bridges low bass and high treble, Nderguet crafts a signature sound by weaving traditional Chadian heritage, including Sara lullabies, Boulala rhythms, and Chari-Baguirmi melodies with modern genres.
He first achieved international attention in the late 1990s as a lead singer for the pioneering group Tibesti, later releasing solo projects such as Voix de Sable and Monde Immoral. In recent years, his collaboration with French jazz pianist Emmanuel Bex produced the acclaimed cross-cultural album L'Âme du Blues (2022).
Beyond music, Nderguet actively leverages his platform for humanitarian causes, serving as a global ambassador for malaria awareness.
