Show notes

It’s time for a mechanical takedown! On this week’s episode of 2 Black Guys Talk Godzilla, Aaron Neuwirth and Terence Johnson look at 1974’s blend of myth and cosmic destruction in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, from director Jun Fukuda. Ambition was key with this entry, as Toho would introduce one of Godzilla’s most popular adversaries, Mechagodzilla, along with a fun mythical lion-like kaiju, King Caesar, awakened by a highly debated song. Listen to what the guys thought of this film, which they actually watched months ago with an audience at The Frida Cinema, then recorded immediately afterward in their car. Enjoy!
