Peppa Ceed, born Garvin Hussey, is a Jamaican dancehall and reggae recording artist, songwriter, and producer whose career developed between Jamaica and the United States. Originally from Mount Airy in Golden Spring, St Andrew, Hussey was introduced to music at a young age, singing backing parts for friends at a community studio. His early musical interests were shaped by Jamaican artists including Pinchers, Sanchez, and Singing Melody.
After completing his secondary education at Mount James All-Age School, Hussey migrated to the United States. The realities of establishing himself abroad initially pushed music into the background, and he became involved in the restaurant business, operating a West Indian-style establishment in New York. He eventually returned his attention to recording and began building a career within the New York Jamaican and Caribbean music community.
Peppa Ceed's early catalogue includes songs such as “Real Steppa,” “Lebron James,” “Whine Fi Peppa,” “Girl Them Love Peppa,” “Inna Nigeria,” and “Girl You Got It.” His recordings place him within the dancehall tradition while reflecting the independent approach that has characterized his career. “Girl You Got It” appeared on the "Full House Riddim" in 2015, while “Lebron James” and “Whine Fi Peppa” helped establish his presence in the New York-area club circuit.
A significant release came with “Party Time,” a collaboration with dancehall deejay Gully Bop. Produced through Peppa Ceed's Hotpeppa Records, the song circulated in New York clubs before being promoted in Jamaica.
His recorded work continued with singles including “Better Days” in 2020 and “On My Mind” in 2021. His catalogue was later expanded with “You Come First (Original Version),” released in 2026. These releases place Peppa Ceed's documented recording career across more than a decade, from his early singles in the 2010s through his later independent releases.
Peppa Ceed's work as a performer, songwriter, producer, and independent music operator has allowed him to remain connected to Jamaican dancehall while developing an audience across the Caribbean diaspora.
