Puerto Rican star Ozuna, real name Juan Carlos Ozuna Rosado, is a singer, songwriter, rapper, and actor who helped propel reggaeton into a global phenomenon. Drawing on his San Juan upbringing, Dominican heritage, and time spent absorbing New York City’s urban music scene, the prolific artist, who began writing songs at age 12, crafted a signature sound that made him an icon of modern Latin music.
Ozuna entered the music industry during the early 2010s, recording songs independently and gradually building an audience through digital platforms and radio. Early releases such as “Imaginando” and “Si Tu Marido No Te Quiere” helped establish his name across Latin America. His growing reputation led to collaborations with prominent artists, including Daddy Yankee, while “La Ocasión,” recorded alongside Anuel AA, Arcángel and De La Ghetto, became an important milestone in the development of Latin trap.
His career accelerated in 2017 with "Odisea," his debut studio album. Released through VP Entertainment and Dímelo Vi with Sony Music Latin distribution, the project reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart and accumulated 46 non-consecutive weeks at the top. The album positioned Ozuna among the leading artists of a new generation of Latin urban performers.
He continued that success with "Aura" in 2018, another No. 1 album that spent 17 weeks atop the Top Latin Albums chart. His later releases include "Nibiru," "ENOC," "Los Dioses" with Anuel AA, "OzuTochi," "Afro" and "Cosmo." His extensive list of collaborators includes J Balvin, Bad Bunny, Selena Gomez, Cardi B, DJ Snake, Rosalía, Sia, Nicky Jam and Daddy Yankee. His early association with Bad Bunny included the influential track “Diles,” followed by further collaborations as both artists developed international careers.
Ozuna's repertoire draws from reggaeton, Latin trap, Latin hip-hop, Latin pop and R&B, giving him room to move between romantic material, urban anthems and global crossover productions. His accomplishments include four Guinness World Records, 11 Billboard Latin Music Awards in 2019 and inclusion in TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2019. He has also received two Latin GRAMMY wins from 15 nominations through the 26th ceremony.
Outside music, Ozuna has pursued acting and founded the Odisea Children Fund, extending his work toward programs supporting children and teenagers.
