Neha Kakkar's rise from singing at religious gatherings as a child to becoming one of India's most recognizable playback singers is a story of persistence, reinvention, and extraordinary audience reach. Born in Rishikesh and raised in Delhi, she began performing publicly at around four years old and later competed on the second season of Indian Idol in 2006. In 2008, Kakkar released her first album, Neha the Rock Star, before gradually establishing herself as a sought-after playback singer.
