Journey

Eric Nice Diba, renowned for his profound blend of Congolese rumba with modern elements like zouk, rock, and amapiano, was born Eric Lukumuena Mutombo on October 22, 1983, in Bukavu, South Kivu. As the son of writer Valérien Mutombo Diba, Eric shaped his artistic vision deeply rooted in cultural narratives while also holding a degree in international relations. Leading the innovative Credo Muzik, Eric's music is a vibrant expression of Congolese identity, seamlessly incorporating traditional Kikongo rhythms with contemporary global sounds. His tracks like “Agora,” performed in Portuguese and Kikongo, boldly advocate for youth liberation. Other hits like “Polygame” and “Toi ou Moi” encapsulate his commitment to addressing societal issues through music. His artistic influence was evident when he performed and curated at the TMA Festival 2023 and served as artistic director for the 9th Jeux de la Francophonie. Recognized by the African Music Academy, Eric continues to represent Congo's musical prowess and cultural dynamism across the world stage.
