Journey
Eric Bapfakurera Fabrice, known professionally as Barick, is an innovative Rwandan music producer and founder of the influential Barick Music Creation Group (BMCG). Born in Kigali on April 1, 1978, Barick began his musical journey at Ndera Seminary, mastering both piano and organ. His early influences were shaped profoundly by global music icons like Michael Jackson, driving him to explore the intricacies of music production tools such as Cubase and Logic. Pursuing higher education, Barick ventured to Portugal and Belgium to study biochemistry, a journey that allowed him to further his musical exploration while absorbing diverse cultural influences. His international experiences culminated in a performance at the 2005 World Expo in Japan, a testament to his global reach. In 2011, Barick launched BMCG, a transformational platform in the Rwandan music industry, nurturing talents like Benny Black, Koudou, and Umutare Gaby with a blend of trap, genge, and bongoflava genres. Through hits like 'Turn Up' and the 'Love & 808's' EP, Barick’s studio remains a beacon for creativity, merging African rhythms with global perspectives, and solidifying his influence in shaping Rwanda's sonic future.
