Journey
Roland Gyamfi, professionally known as Walker Mallow, is not the kind of artist who fits neatly into one box. Raised in Sokoban–Ahodwo, Kumasi, he grew up on Highlife pouring from an old radio, those early rhythms teaching him that music could carry joy, memory, and connection in equal measure. Today, Walker Mallow moves fluidly across Reggae, Afrobeats, UK Rap, Afroswing, Hip-Hop, and Afropop, stitching genres together with poetic honesty and a voice built for reflection. His sound feels lived-in. Soulful, direct, and emotionally present.
His journey began early through intimate performances and local gatherings, where he learned how to hold a room with nothing but melody and meaning. That foundation now echoes through songs like “Ade Asa,” “Yaba,” “Letter to God,” “Breathe,” “Destiny,” and “Taking Shots,” as well as projects such as "NEMESIS."
According to Walker, he points to his releases "Loner Was Here," "This Is Not Me," and "For The Family" as markers of his artistic evolution. Each captures a different chapter. Each tells its own truth. His favorite personal release, “Night In Silence,” strips everything back: minimal production, evocative lyrics, and pure emotion.
Walker Mallow is a storyteller in motion, translating life’s highs and fractures into music that meets listeners right where they are.
