Journey

Emerging from the cultural richness of Fort-de-France, Martinique, Maurane Voyer stands as a compelling force in Caribbean music. Raised by Gilles Voyer and Danielle René-Corail of the group Taxi Kréol, Maurane's artistic journey began in an environment steeped in musical heritage. She ventured into her professional career as a backing vocalist for prominent artists like Esy Kennenga, cultivating her voice before gaining individual acclaim. 2012 saw the release of singles 'Haïti pa pléré' and 'Mizik,' marking her initial foray into the spotlight with a vibrant blend of zouk, dancehall, and R&B. The foundation of her artistic identity culminated in 2017's '#RVDmau' EP, a precursor to her debut album 'Bazar' in 2020, which artfully wove her cultural roots with modern soundscapes. In 2022, her album 'BBW' offered standouts like 'Zaboka' and 'Kole kole,' with the expanded edition seeing 'Viré fey' chart successfully in Outre-Mer. Known for her emotive vocalizations and resonant lyrics, Maurane's performance presence has graced stages such as the Terre de Blues Festival, continually attracting a global audience. Her music is a testament to her dynamic evolution, interlacing Caribbean identity with a progressive narrative.
