Muazu Adamu, professionally known as Black Fab and culturally recognized as Egwu, is a Nigerian Afro-hip-hop artist whose music traverses the traditional boundaries of genre, drawing heavily from his Igala heritage. Born in Kaduna's military barracks and rooted in Ankpa, Kogi State, Black Fab embodies a fusion of culture, spirituality, and street consciousness. His alias, Egwu — meaning 'Masquerade' in Igala — encapsulates his role as a cultural narrative bearer within his music. Growing up across Nigeria's vibrant cities, Lagos and Abuja, his sound reflects a tapestry of influences ranging from the raw northern grittiness to infectious southern rhythms. Starting his musical journey at Abuja's Goshen Studio in 2007, Black Fab's breakthrough came with the 2009 street anthem 'Sip Bottle,' featuring Terry G. His music portfolio showcases hits like 'Ukpokpu', 'Pray for Me' with Patoranking and Ycee, and 'Good Morning Africa', all unified by a thread of spiritual and social awareness. His debut EP 'Big Masquerade' further asserted his unique artistic vision. Beyond the studio, Black Fab helms Sound Yard and spearheads We Are Kogites (WAKOGITES), initiatives aimed at fostering cultural pride and unity among Kogi state indigenes globally.
