Addi Chokoch, born Stevo Chokoch, is a Kenyan gengeton artist whose path into music began on the streets rather than in a recording studio or talent competition. His story is one of the most distinctive in Kenya's contemporary music scene. Before signing a record deal, Chokoch was a street performer entertaining matatu passengers and pedestrians around Nairobi. His life changed when one of those performances was filmed by a passenger and shared online, quickly attracting widespread attention. Among those who saw the viral video was Kenyan artist Dmore, who recognized his potential and reached out, opening the door to a professional music career.
That breakthrough led to Chokoch joining Maarlie Entertainment, where he became part of a creative circle that included Sherif, Wang'z, Wanati, GodN47, and Masagara.
