We conclude our two-part special with forensic science legend Ray Fysh, former advisor to the Metropolitan Police. Joined by hosts Helen Fospero and Martin Brunt, Ray details the pivotal investigations that shaped modern British policing. In this episode, discover the explosive forensic breakthroughs behind London’s most infamous cases. What You'll Hear: Gangland Forensics: The inside story of Operation Sturdy. Learn how a single ballistics match and DNA from a stolen mobile phone were the crucial links that unmasked a brutal gang of killers in 1998. 7/7 & 21/7 Bombings: Ray recounts his radical decision to establish a 24/7 forensic lab. This innovation led to the rapid identification of the 7/7 bombers and foiled a second terror plot just two weeks later. The "Hoax" Demolition: For the first time, Ray reveals how a "proof of concept" explosion—recreating the 21/7 bombers' own device—was used to prove their lethal intent in court and secure convictions.
