Day 1 of the #ShootUrShot Workshop at AMPD Studios set the tone for an intense and inspiring two-day experience in collaboration with Resistance Fest. Out of over 1,000 entries, only 50 artists were selected for Day 1, each bringing their own unique sound, story, and energy to the stage.
Curated by Soweto Magz, Shembas Mhlabawonke was on the ground engaging directly with some of the entrants, capturing raw conversations, personal journeys, and the mindset behind their craft. From first-time performers to rising voices ready for the spotlight, the interviews gave an honest look into the reality of emerging talent in the South African music scene.
With industry judges Rashid Kay, Rouge, and PDot in attendance, the pressure was high and the stakes even higher as artists competed not only for a R10,000 home studio but also a chance to perform at Resistance Fest.
