Mufti Ismail Musa Menk, widely known as Mufti Menk, is a globally recognized Islamic scholar, motivational speaker, and educator from Zimbabwe. His education provided him with a strong foundation in Quranic studies, including Tajweed (the rules of proper Quranic pronunciation and recitation), under the guidance of various scholars during his academic journey. While he is not primarily known as a Qari (professional reciter who records complete Quranic recitations for public distribution) in the same vein as individuals like Abdul Basit Abdus Samad or Muhammad Siddiq al-Minshawi, his knowledge of the Quran and its recitation is evident in his public engagements. Mufti Menk is the Head of the Fatwa Department for the Council of Islamic Scholars of Zimbabwe. His influence extends far beyond Zimbabwe, as he travels globally to deliver lectures on a wide range of Islamic and social topics. His relatable style, emphasis on peace, tolerance, and interfaith harmony, and his ability to connect with diverse audiences have made him extremely popular worldwide.
