Jamaica Travel Podcast is a series about travelling the island as a resident would: settling into a place, learning its rhythms, then moving to somewhere connected to it. The terrain is mostly mountains with a narrow coastal plain, so routes between Kingston, the interior and the shore matter as much as the destinations. Over the series, he covers Kingston and the Blue Mountains, then moves to Port Esquivel on the south coast and inland to Cockpit Country. He also spends time in Montego Bay, but not only around the tourist strip. Each place is treated as a working landscape of towns, harbours, roads and parishes. The show unfolds over months rather than a single trip. He returns to places as the dry season gives way to rain, and again as the heat moves from the coast into the cooler interior. Gradually, the episodes build an account of Jamaica that comes from repetition, patience and ordinary encounters. Andre Campbell lives in Jamaica and stays for two years, moving between cities, coastlines and smaller towns on a route that follows the seasons. Not a week-long visit — Andre is there in every kind of weather, working out where to eat on an ordinary Tuesday, which train to take, what a festival actually feels like from the pavement. A new episode arrives every day. Each one is short and specific: one neighbourhood, one journey, one meal, one museum worth the detour — with the practical detail that matters. What it costs. When it closes. Whether the queue is worth it. What to do when it rains. Every episode carries a full transcript and chapter markers. ☕ Enjoying the show?
