Dareen Barbar is a motivational speaker, life coach, and aspiring athlete from Lebanon. Dareen made history in one of the most glamorous events on the planet, the World, Beauty, Fitness, and Fashion Show in London 2017, where she competed and won in the Transformation and Makeover Division. She was the first Arab amputee to compete in a pageant. In the UAE, she is an ambassador of inclusiveness for individuals with determination, also known as the disabled. Her life was turned around when she lost her leg to cancer when she was 15 years old. But that didn't stop her from living her life to the fullest and triumphing over adversity. Her love of athletics was reignited after she shattered her hip in 2013, prompting her to adopt a healthy lifestyle of training and eating well, and she went on to become a fitness instructor and nutritionist. She was recognized and awarded at various events for her exploits, including being the first Arab amputee to complete a super sprint at the Dubai women's triathlon 2018. Dareen's name will go down in history as the female competitor who broke the Guinness World Record for the longest Samson's chair sit, also known as a static wall sit, in June 2021. Dareen claimed the title after sitting for two minutes and 8.24 seconds, making her the Middle East's first female amputee to hold a Guinness World Record. Her experience has influenced and continues to impact many people from all over the world.
