Jovi / Le Monstre

Ndukong Godlove Nfor, professionally known as Jovi and as producer Le Monstre, is a Cameroonian artist born on October 24, 1983, in Douala. He studied Economics and Business Management at the University of Yaoundé II. Jovi launched his career in 2011 with “Don 4 Kwat,” revitalizing Cameroonian hip-hop. His debut album, H.I.V (Humanity Is Vanishing) (2012), showcased a unique mix of local rhythms and Western hip-hop, all self-produced. In 2013, he co-founded New Bell Music, nurturing talents like Reniss. Jovi’s style, called “Mboko,” fuses traditional Cameroonian sounds with hip-hop, trap, and electronic music, rapping in multiple languages. His albums, including 'Mboko God' (2015) and '2035' (2023), explore identity and culture. Jovi is a major influence in African music with a strong fanbase known as “MBOKO GANG.”
