Journey
Precious Onyekachukwu Achonwa, affectionately known by his stage name King Dareal, is a trailblazer in the Afro-Urban Gospel music scene. Born in the late 1980s to Mr. and Mrs. Felix Achonwa, he hails from Nigeria's vibrant Niger-Delta region.
Growing up as an only child, King Dareal found inspiration in gospel luminaries like Kirk Franklin, Bebe & Cece Winans, and Hezekiah Walker. His passion for music led him to the dynamic world of Urban Gospel, where he began crafting his unique sound.
His career gained momentum in 2012 when he stood out as the sole rapper among 26 contestants on the Destiny Child Gospel Talent Hunt's inaugural season. By 2014, he showcased his versatility as a major character in a rap drama at the IPPC International Music Concert, held at the Loveworld Convocation Arena in Lagos, Nigeria.
Throughout his journey, King Dareal has shared stages with renowned artists such as Sinach, Frank Edwards, and Ada. He has also collaborated in the studio with talents like Samsong and Kelly Lyon. His performances have graced significant events, including the ReachOut Nigeria Concert in Benin City and the Vibrant Generation concert in Port Harcourt.
