Hailing from Limpopo and based in Polokwane, Tlou “aFrikaSoul” Sebatjane has made a name for himself in South Africa’s Afro-House scene as a producer, remixer, and DJ. He grew up in a musical family, where his mother taught him the basics, and later began teaching himself how to create dance music. In 2008, he started experimenting with production, steadily building recognition in the underground before moving onto bigger platforms.
Over the years, aFrikaSoul has worked with some of the country’s most respected acts, producing a remix of “Asine” by Kelly Khumalo and collaborating with Shota Mdabe, Bucie, Donald, and Professor, among others. His catalogue includes standout tracks such as “Psalm61” featuring Judith Somhlaba (2021), “Rectify,” and “Searching for Love.”
He also co-founded the collaborative project Creativity of Chaos (COC) with Blaqlup under Shauku Music Group, expanding his reach into collective experimentation within Afro-House. His steady output and collaborations continue to establish him as a growing force in South African electronic music.
