Xlimkid (born Henry Kwame Boakye) is a Ghanaian rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer known for blending trap, hip‑hop, Highlife, Reggae, and Afro-trap influences. Often described as a cultural storyteller, his music combines hard-hitting beats with reflective, narrative-driven lyrics.
Born in Accra and raised in Kumasi, he discovered his passion for music in his early teens, developing a natural affinity for melodies and rhymes. Xlimkid began releasing music around 2021, quickly gaining attention with emotionally charged tracks such as “Journey” and “Before I Go”, which explore life struggles, resilience, and social commentary.
He gained significant recognition in 2022 with his debut single “Alone” and solidified his breakthrough with the 2023 EP "Pain in Glory," a collaboration with O’Kenneth featuring the viral hit “Lonely Road”. His track “Valley of Trappers”, featuring Sarkodie, further amplified his presence across the African hip-hop scene.
In 2024, he was selected for Apple Music’s Up Next Ghana program, highlighting his potential for global reach. The lead release from his EP "L.O.T.E" (Life On The Edge), including the singles "BETRAYED" and "Silly Introvert" (2026), further accentuates his crisp work.
Xlimkid is signed with Crux Global and Sony Music Entertainment Africa, and his live performances, including the 3MusicTV Apocalypse, showcase his energetic stage presence and connection with audiences.
