Matshediso Florence Mholo, better known as Tshedi Mholo (born September 27, 1976), is a towering figure in the South African entertainment industry, renowned as a soulful vocalist, songwriter, and dedicated activist. Hailing from Lichtenburg in the North West Province, she initially established a career in education as a music and drama teacher before her ascent to superstardom. In 2003, she became the leading female voice of the iconic Afro-pop trio Malaika. The group’s debut self-titled album and the follow-up project "Vuthelani" became cultural phenomena, producing timeless anthems such as "Destiny" and "2 Bob." Her work with Malaika earned prestigious accolades, including multiple SAMA Awards and the Kora Award for Best Southern Africa Group.
Following a decade of group success, Tshedi successfully transitioned into a solo career, releasing her debut album "Victory" in 2013 under Sony Music Africa. The record highlighted her artistic growth, featuring the hit collaboration "Jeemboro" with Congolese star Fally Ipupa and the poignant single "BoMme." Beyond music, she is a versatile actress known for her roles in the SABC drama "Muvhango" and the comedy "Ga Re Dumele."
A passionate humanitarian, Tshedi has served as a UNICEF Celebrity Advocate, using her voice to champion the rights of children and raise awareness for HIV/AIDS and cancer.
