Tholwana Mohale entered South African pop music as a teenager after winning SA’s Got Talent in 2014 at the age of 14, introducing audiences to a young artist focused on personal songwriting, guitar-based arrangements, and youth-driven pop music. Originally from the Northern Cape and later based in Johannesburg, she developed an early connection to music through jazz and classic records played in her home environment.
After relocating to Johannesburg, she attended the National School of the Arts while balancing school, songwriting, and recording work. Her debut single, “Hollywood Guy,” released in 2015, introduced a polished pop direction built around teenage experiences and personal writing. She later followed with “Playing on My Mind” before releasing the EP “Warrior” in 2017. The title track was created during a difficult personal period and served as a message of gratitude toward her family.
In 2018, she released her debut album “2.0.1.5.,” a project centred on youth, relationships, uncertainty, and self-discovery. The album included contributions from Ross Jack and Alex Parker, alongside collaborations with Gemini Major and Ice Prince.
The release later earned a nomination for Best Pop Album at the South African Music Awards, confirming her transition from talent-show winner into an established recording artist within South African pop music. Alongside her music career, she also pursued psychology studies at the University of the Witwatersrand.
