Tolulope Ajayi, widely known by his stage name T-Classic, is a Nigerian Afropop singer and songwriter born in Agege, Lagos. The first child in a family of five, he was raised in a home guided by discipline and faith, with his mother serving as a pastor. From childhood, he showed an interest in music and performance, entertaining family and friends with his singing and dancing, often drawing inspiration from Michael Jackson and Gospel music.
He attended Legacy Nursery and Primary School before moving to Royal Camp Comprehensive High School in Agege, graduating in 2013. His school environment encouraged creativity, giving him space to practice music, drama, and dance. After finishing secondary school, he decided to pursue music full-time, joining Bang Music Entertainment to begin recording.
T-Classic’s first notable recognition came under Mixnaija Entertainment, where he released singles such as “I Want You” and “Isabella.” In 2019, his career reached a turning point with the release of “Nobody Fine Pass You.” The song became a nationwide success, earning awards and establishing him as a rising star in the Nigerian music industry.
In 2020, he signed with Sony Music West Africa and dropped his debut extended play, “Underrated.” The project featured songs like “Where You Dey”, “LyKaDu”, and “Owo,” showcasing his range and storytelling ability. Over the years, he has collaborated with top acts including Mayorkun, Peruzzi, DJ Kaywise, and DJ Xclusive.
T-Classic expanded his career in 2022 by signing a deal with AJ Entertainment, further strengthening his presence in the Afropop scene. With his focus on themes of love, ambition, and everyday life, he continues to grow as one of the genre’s promising young voices.
