Journey
Spumante is a South African producer and DJ from Leandra, Mpumalanga, whose music spans house, neo-soul, jazz, and Amapiano influences. He developed a passion for house music around 2008 and launched his first official project with the Deep & Blazed EP in 2012, marking the beginning of a steady career in South Africa’s electronic music scene.
Over the years, he has built a diverse catalog, blending melodic house elements with deep percussion and, later, piano-driven Amapiano sounds. His debut album, House of Melodies (2019), introduced collaborations with vocalists like Phila, John Mani, Shirley Heavens, and V-Soul, showing his ability to craft rich, layered productions. Following this, Spumante signed with Piano Hub and released Time Travel (2021) and Break Barriers (2021), each project further exploring piano-led rhythms while maintaining his house music roots.
He continued to grow his catalog with Season Ten (2023) and Pholas (2024), while launching the Instrumante Serie, a Bandcamp-exclusive series highlighting instrumental and experimental productions.
Spumante has collaborated with many artists, including Kabza De Small, Mhaw Keys, Daliwonga, Sir Trill, Deeper Phil, Shino Kikai, and others, demonstrating versatility across house and Amapiano projects. As a live performer, he has played clubs, radio events, and showcases throughout South Africa, sharing stages with notable DJs and artists such as Vinny Da Vinci, DJ Christos, DJ China, and Kat La Kat.
Although he has not received major industry awards, Spumante has earned recognition through consistent releases, collaborations, and performances, establishing him as a respected figure in South Africa’s house and Amapiano music community. His work reflects both a deep love for South African music and a commitment to exploring its evolving sounds.
