Abel Vusi Molapo, professionally known as Visca, is a South African Amapiano producer, DJ, songwriter, and recording artist whose work has contributed to the growth and international visibility of the Amapiano genre. Emerging from South Africa's vibrant dance music scene, he first gained widespread recognition through his involvement in the hit single "Ba Straata," a collaboration with DJ Maphorisa featuring Stompiiey, ShaunMusiq, Ftears, Madumane, and 2woshort. The song became one of the most recognizable Amapiano releases of its era, earning significant streaming success and helping establish Visca as a notable producer within the genre.
Born Abel Vusi Molapo, Visca initially built his reputation behind the scenes, crafting productions characterized by soulful piano melodies, deep basslines, log-drum rhythms, and vocal-driven arrangements. His production style became associated with contemporary Amapiano's evolving sound, leading to collaborations with prominent artists including DJ Maphorisa, Daliwonga, Young Stunna, Tyler ICU, Mellow & Sleazy, Kabza De Small, and other leading figures in South African dance music.
In 2023, Visca released his debut studio album, "I Made It," through New Money Records, with distribution handled by Sony Music Entertainment Africa. The 10-track release featured collaborations with Young Stunna, Daliwonga, DJ Maphorisa, Tyler ICU, LeeMcKrazy, Mashudu, Scotts Maphuma, Chley, Tman Xpress, Thuto The Human, Ice Beats Slide, and several other artists. Notable tracks from the album include “Jika Majika,” “Never Ba Loke,” and “Emazulwini.” The release marked an important milestone in his career, establishing him not only as a producer but also as a front-facing recording artist.
Beyond "Ba Straata" and "I Made It," Visca's catalogue includes songs such as “Izolo,” “Ukushona Kwelanga,” “Duze Kwami,” and “Ngizojabula.” In 2025, he continued developing his solo artistic identity with the release of “Ngizojabula,” further demonstrating his transition from producer to leading Amapiano performer. Through his production work, collaborations, and solo releases, Visca has become one of the notable contributors to the contemporary Amapiano movement.
