Journey
Shaun Jacobs is a South African singer, songwriter, and producer whose music spans pop, rock, soul, and alternative styles. His career began in Johannesburg, where he developed through songwriting, recording, and independent studio production.
He grew up in a musical environment and developed into a multi-instrumentalist with a focus on melody-led composition and vocal-centred production. Early work gained traction through radio support and independent releases within South Africa’s adult contemporary and alternative music space.
“Love Can” became a defining release in his catalogue, earning a South African Music Award (SAMA) for Best Adult Contemporary Album along with additional recognition for production-related categories. The project strengthened his position within the South African music industry.
International attention increased through “Youngr,” a collaboration with Bruno Martini that gained wide streaming reach and crossover exposure in electronic and pop spaces. His other releases, including “End of the Road,” “Say You Will Remember Me,” and “Worry / Don’t Worry,” reflect movement between acoustic songwriting and electronic-influenced production.
Over time, his work expanded beyond South Africa into international collaboration networks, including projects linked to Los Angeles and Nashville. He is now based in California, continuing work across pop and electronic music collaborations.
