Journey
Channelle Lekogo, stage name Shan'L, is a Gabonese singer, songwriter, and performer widely regarded as one of Central Africa's most influential contemporary music artists. Shan'L has established herself as one of the leading voices in contemporary Central African music. Raised in Gabon’s Haut-Ogooué region, she discovered her passion for performance through school choirs, where she developed the vocal and stagecraft skills that later defined her career. Her public profile first grew after she reached the finals of the Miss Gabon pageant. This experience opened doors in the entertainment industry and ultimately led to her professional recording career.
Shan'L emerged on the regional music scene in 2013 with the duet “L’Aveu,” before gaining wider recognition through a series of collaborations and solo releases. A breakthrough came in 2015 when she won the Gabon edition of Airtel Trace Music Star and released her debut album, "Shan’L Is My Name," introducing audiences to songs such as “Camisolé,” “Où est le gars ?” and “Je me bats pour réussir.”
Her reputation expanded significantly with the success of “Tchizambengue,” followed by popular releases including “Serré Serré,” “Poupish,” “Yayayobé,” and “Où est le mariage ?,” the latter featuring Fally Ipupa. Blending R&B, Afropop, zouk and contemporary African influences, Shan'L has become known for music that combines infectious melodies with themes of love, relationships and everyday life.
Her later discography includes the studio albums "Eklektik 2.0" in 2020, and "Résilience" in 2026. Over the years, she has earned recognition across the continent, including awards for Best Central African Artist and a growing international profile through partnerships with labels such as Sony Music Entertainment. Shan'L remains one of Gabon’s most influential musical exports and a prominent figure in Francophone African entertainment.
