Journey
Sara López Roy discovered her passion for music at an early age. At just twelve years old, she joined the children's music group Macedònia, where she gained her first experience performing before live audiences and recording professionally. She later became a member of the band Noah, further developing her songwriting and stage presence while exploring different styles of contemporary pop. These formative years laid the foundation for a solo career centered on honest storytelling and expressive vocals. Sara Roy primarily performs in Catalan, while occasionally recording in Spanish.
After years of performing with groups, Sara Roy embarked on her solo journey, steadily building a catalog that reflected her growth as both a songwriter and performer. She released the single "Si Alguna Vez" under Àlex Pérez, introducing audiences to a more personal artistic direction. In 2021, she reached a major milestone with the release of her debut album, (A)MAR, through Halley Records. The project established her as one of the emerging voices in Catalan pop, earning praise for its heartfelt songwriting and contemporary production.
Rather than limiting herself to solo work, Sara Roy has embraced collaboration throughout her career. She has recorded and performed alongside artists including David Otero, Miki Núñez, Buhos, Xanguito, Suu, Blaumut, Doctor Prats, Lildami, and Els Amics de les Arts, demonstrating her versatility across different corners of the Catalan and Spanish music scene. Her second studio album, ALTER EGO (2024), marked another creative step forward, presenting a more confident and expansive sound while remaining rooted in the emotional honesty that defines her music.
Beyond recording, Sara Roy has become a familiar presence on festival stages and live music venues throughout Catalonia. Her achievements include winning Best New Artist at the 2022 Enderrock Awards, while her collaboration "Tot És Més Fàcil" with Miki Núñez received the Enderrock Award for Best Singer-Songwriter Song. As she continues to release new music through Satélite K, Sara Roy remains committed to creating songs that resonate deeply with listeners, building a career shaped by authenticity, meaningful collaborations, and a lifelong dedication to music.
