DJ Supta born Siyabulela Sithole in 1991 is a prominent South African DJ, producer, and radio personality known for shaping the country’s Afro House and Amapiano scenes. Born and raised in Aliwal North, Eastern Cape, Supta developed a love for music early, influenced by his family’s musical background and exposure to local rhythms and radio.
He began his media journey at Takalani FM, a community radio station, where he honed his skills as a young presenter. He continued to build experience at Motheo FM and Kovsie FM while attending university, laying the foundation for a career in broadcasting. Supta later joined YFM in Johannesburg, where he spent over a decade connecting with a national audience through engaging radio shows and his deep knowledge of music culture.
Alongside radio, Supta pursued music production, gaining recognition for his co-production on Prince Kaybee’s “Gugulethu”, a track that achieved significant streaming success and award attention. His debut album, Kuzolunga, and follow-up EP, Makwande, showcase his talent for blending Afro House, Amapiano, and electronic influences, highlighting both his creativity and versatility.
In 2025, Supta transitioned to Metro FM, hosting the Midnight Affair show, marking a new chapter in his career. Known for his energetic yet refined style, he continues to inspire both listeners and aspiring artists. Through radio, live performance, and production, Supta has cemented himself as a key figure in South Africa’s contemporary music landscape, bridging culture, rhythm, and innovation.
