Dan Silver, professionally known as SILVER, is an American record producer, audio engineer, mixer, songwriter, and music supervisor whose career spans more than three decades across recorded music, film, television, advertising, video games, and trailers. Operating from both the East and West Coasts of the United States, he has built a diverse body of work that bridges mainstream commercial productions and independent creative projects.
Silver has contributed to projects involving a wide range of internationally recognized artists. His production and engineering credits include work connected to Bob Dylan tribute recordings for Amnesty International, collaborations involving Seal, Jeff Beck, Billy Bragg, Evan Rachel Wood, Paul Simon, and rapper Xzibit. As an audio engineer and mixer, he has also worked on projects associated with artists such as John Frusciante, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer, Audioslave, The Breeders, George Thorogood, and Masters of Reality.
Within electronic music, Silver gained additional visibility through his involvement in “Forever Free,” a collaboration with the South African electronic duo GoldFish and singer-songwriter Nate Highfield. His work also extends to remixing and co-producing recordings connected to artists such as Muddy Waters, Edgar Winter, and Elvis Presley.
Earlier in his career, Silver developed his technical expertise as an assistant engineer in Los Angeles, participating in recording sessions and rehearsal productions that helped establish his reputation within the music industry. Beyond music production, he has earned recognition as a music supervisor and audio specialist for visual media, contributing to projects across multiple entertainment formats. He is also a recipient of a Gold Telly Award, reflecting his achievements in audiovisual production.
