Raheem Kemet, born Abdul Raheem Abdul-Rasheed on 23 February 1983, is a dynamic South African artist from Durban, celebrated as a rapper, vocalist, poet, songwriter, and beatboxer. His music blends alternative hip hop, soul, and Afro-inspired rhythms, deeply influenced by his Zulu and Makhuwa heritage.
He made a strong debut with the EP "Live Forever" (2021), followed by singles like “Libra” and The Wind EP, showcasing his ability to merge emotive storytelling with rich, genre-crossing soundscapes. Over the years, he has collaborated with renowned musicians including Steve Fataar of The Flames and Afro-root legend Madala Kunene, and toured internationally, including South Korea in 2017.
Raheem’s early talent was recognized when he won Durban’s Bling Free Battle of the Year in 2004. Formerly signed to Sony Music Africa, he now works independently, crafting socially conscious music while exploring creative entrepreneurship.
