Hailing from the vibrant cultural hub of São Paulo, Tomás Pontifex Horn (born April 21, 1997) is an acclaimed Brazilian disc jockey, songwriter, and electronic music producer performing under the moniker Pontifexx. Raised in a creative household where he studied classical piano and acoustic guitar from early childhood, his artistic trajectory pivoted drastically toward modern dance music after experiencing the massive collective energy of international stadium concerts during his formative teenage years.
Pontifexx officially entered the global spotlight with his 2018 breakout club record "Get Away," an overnight streaming success that instantly established his signature sound of melodic progressive house and atmospheric tech-house. His intricate production techniques and refined sonic textures caught the attention of global dance icons, resulting in high-profile releases through Martin Garrix’s prestigious imprint, STMPD RCRDS, as well as major partnerships with Sony Music.
Accumulating tens of millions of digital streams worldwide, his catalog boasts celebrated tracks such as "Interstellar,” which received heavy live-set support from elite international DJs and "Thunder." Beyond his studio craftsmanship, Pontifexx has transitioned into a highly sought-after live performer on the global circuit. He has brought his high-energy club sets to premier international music festivals, including Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival in Miami, and Lollapalooza, defining him as a leading figure of Brazil's modern electronic renaissance.
