Journey
Ethyler Paul Éric Michel, better known as Paulo Chakal is a highly versatile Ivorian singer, songwriter, and recording artist who has emerged as a frontline figure in the explosive evolution of Afrobeat and Urban Pop across Francophone West Africa. Born and raised in Côte d'Ivoire, Chakal channeled his upbringing into a distinct musical style characterized by slick melodic vocal runs, heavy groove elements, and traditional African rhythms packaged for the global stage.
Operating under the prominent independent imprint Code Agency, Chakal initially captured the public’s attention with standard-setting singles like "Dior," "On fume," and "Si tu m'aimes," which earned him a devoted digital following. He quickly established himself as an elite collaborative powerhouse, contributing unforgettable vernacular hooks to several regional hit records. His career reached critical heights with the release of the massive viral anthem "Y'a Dieu dedans," a collaborative masterstroke featuring Ivorian rap pioneer Didi B. He further broadened his reach by featuring on Elidjha’s "Dis le moi" and Jaymax's high-energy track "Casser ton dos."
Following the success of his early project, “Nouchi Love,” Chakal showcased his creative stamina by releasing his expansive studio album, “777,” the record features hit tracks like "4Matic," "419," and "Babe," cementing his transition from an underground sensation to a crucial architect of the modern "Rap Ivoire" soundscape.
