Journey
Hailing from the heart of Ndwendwe, KwaZulu-Natal, Nomfundo Ngcobo better known by her stage moniker Nomfundo Moh has redefined the sounds of South African Afro-pop.
Nomfundo Moh represents a rare breed of artist who prioritizes both her craft and her community; she famously balanced her meteoric rise to stardom with her studies, earning a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2022. This academic background deeply informs her songwriting, which often explores themes of love, resilience, and cultural pride.
Her professional journey skyrocketed in 2021 with the platinum-selling single "Lilizela," but it was the soulful masterpiece "Phakade Lami" that transformed her into a household name. This track achieved a staggering 6× Platinum status and anchored her debut album, Amagama, which won the Best Afro Pop Album at the South African Music Awards (SAMA). Her excellence is further reflected in her victory for Highest Airplay Song at the Basadi in Music Awards and her prestigious selection as a Spotify EQUAL Africa Global Ambassador.
Beyond her musical catalog, which includes hit projects like “Ugcobo,” and “Twenty Four,” she is a community-focused entrepreneur who launched her restaurant, La Mar, in 2024 to foster local employment. As of 2026, Nomfundo Moh remains at the pinnacle of the industry. Following the success of her 2025 EP Out The Box, she is currently preparing for the highly anticipated April 3, 2026, release of her fourth studio album, “Farm Julia,” a project dedicated to her family roots.
