Nomcebo Nothule Zikode, known as Nomcebo, is a South African singer, songwriter, and performer whose remarkable journey from backing vocalist to international award-winning artist has made her one of the most respected voices in African music. Best known as the co-writer and vocalist behind the global hit “Jerusalema,” she has become a symbol of perseverance, talent, and artistic excellence.
Born in Hammarsdale, KwaZulu-Natal, Nomcebo discovered her love for music at an early age. Long before achieving international recognition, she spent more than fifteen years working behind the scenes as a backing vocalist for some of South Africa’s most established artists, including Deborah Fraser, Zahara, Lundi Tyamara, and Nhlanhla Nciza.
