Journey
Nellio Star, whose real name is Fouda Ndzinga Fabrice Lionel, was born on March 20, 1995, in Yaoundé, Cameroon, to a mother of Indian origin and a Cameroonian father. He is a singer, songwriter, composer, and beatmaker. His passion for music began during middle school, when he joined the school choir and taught himself the basics of music theory. Inspired by his father and influenced by artists such as Henry Dikongue, Youssou Ndour, X-Maleya, Singuila, and Asa, he started shaping his own artistic identity.
In 2015, Nellio began performing in cabarets, which helped him refine his live performance skills. The following year, he won the singing competition at the Caramel Festival and contributed to the collective project Fair-play alongside Tony Washington, with support from Verushka, a finalist of The Voice Afrique Francophone, and Tonton Ebogo. After leaving the collective, he pursued a solo career, performing at major events such as Miss Université Cameroun and the University Games.
His determination and growth eventually caught the attention of Makea Production, which discovered him through Facebook and signed him under a production contract. With Sony Music handling distribution, Nellio gained international exposure. On October 25, 2019, he released his debut single Ça va aller, which quickly spread worldwide and marked his official entry into the global Afro-pop scene.
