Journey
Ndabezinhle Mntungwa is a South African musician making his mark within Afro Soul and Nguni folk-influenced music. He has steadily grown into a recognizable voice in the contemporary space, drawing attention through emotionally grounded storytelling focused on self-love, resilience, and spiritual reflection.
Performing mainly in isiZulu, his delivery carries a raw, expressive quality that connects beyond language. He first gained digital traction with singles such as “Ukwamukela” (meaning “acceptance”) and “Emoyeni,” both centered on themes of emotional renewal and inner balance. His versatility is also reflected in collaborations, including his feature on Kwesta’s album “The Big Bro Theory” on the track “Nyawo Zami,” as well as his work with Kwazi Nsele on “Ngaye.”
Mntungwa has moved from online attention to a strong live presence. He is currently part of the “Ngimuhle” album tour alongside Zawadi Yamungu, performing at venues such as The Playhouse in Durban and The Market Theatre in Johannesburg. His performances are often stripped back and close in feel, highlighting his strength as a composer and writer.
