Mzeezolyt, born Zanele Ndhlovu in Randfontein, South Africa, is a talented Afro-soul and Afro-Kwaito singer-songwriter known for her rich voice and spiritual stage presence. She developed a passion for music early in life, later honing her craft at the National School of the Arts, where she began shaping her unique sound inspired by African rhythms and deep emotional storytelling.
Her career took off after she was discovered by renowned producer Arthur Mafokate during a South African Arts & Development Association (SAADA) workshop in 2015. Soon after, she signed with Mafokate’s 999 Music label, joining a lineup of rising talents shaping South Africa’s Afro-fusion sound.
In 2016, Mzeezolyt released her debut album Ingoma, a 13-track project that blended Afro-soul, Kwaito, and traditional melodies into a heartfelt body of work. The title track, “Ingoma,” became one of her most recognized songs and showcased her vocal depth and cultural pride. Over the years, she has collaborated with several prominent artists and producers, including Arthur Mafokate, Mo Flava, Afrikan Roots, and DJ SmashP, on tracks such as “Mfanomuntu,” “Bheka Kuye,” “Ndikhokhele,” and “Hlabelela.”
In 2022, she returned with the single Zinyanya Zam, featuring DJ Besh, reaffirming her place in South Africa’s evolving Afro-soul scene. Her music often draws influence from icons like Thandiswa Mazwai, Simphiwe Dana, Busi Mhlongo, and international stars Beyoncé, Jazmine Sullivan, and India Arie, merging soulful storytelling with powerful African sounds.
Beyond music, Mzeezolyt is also known as a motivational speaker, MC, actress, and radio personality, using her platform to inspire women and promote self-expression. With her dynamic artistry and genuine spirit, she continues to stand out as one of South Africa’s most soulful and authentic voices.
