Shelby Fandaloni Shabangi, popularly known as Mr Chillax, is a South African singer, songwriter, and recording artist from Mpumalanga who has built a reputation through Afro-house, Afropop, and dance music. He emerged from a challenging upbringing in the communities of Clau-Clau and Swalala, where he was raised by his mother after the death of his father in a car accident. His personal experiences later became a source of inspiration for much of his songwriting.
His career gained momentum through local radio exposure, particularly when his song “Sobabili” received airplay on Ligwalagwala FM, helping him secure performance opportunities across South Africa and neighboring countries. He has also earned recognition through several regional awards, including honors from the South African Community Radio Awards, Beauty Fashion and Music Awards, and Mpumalanga Music Awards.
Mr Chillax is known for releases such as "Protection Order," which includes the track “Vroom Pha,” as well as singles like “Thandoluhle” featuring DJ Divine. His catalogue further includes collaborations such as “Shona Langa” with DJ TPZ, “Uthando” with Afro Brotherz, “Lovie Wami,” “Thandekile,” and “Manyonyoba.”
