Journey
Mobi Dixon, born Mabi Ntuli on March 12, 1986, is a South African house music producer and DJ from East London in the Eastern Cape. His interest in music began at a young age, where he started producing hip-hop beats while still in school. After completing high school, he studied sound engineering at Selborne College and later obtained an information technology diploma from Damelin College. He also completed certifications in music business and events management, reflecting his interest in both the creative and operational sides of the industry. Although he briefly worked in IT, he eventually committed fully to music.
In 2007, Ntuli founded Dance Is Kulcha Records and released his debut EP, Dance Is Kulcha. The following year, he gained national attention after winning the DJU AXE remix competition. In 2012, he was selected for DJ Oskido’s I Believe development program, where he contributed to Vetkuk vs Mahoota’s album Dinaledi.
Mobi Dixon rose to prominence with the release of his debut album Tribal Soul in 2014, which achieved platinum status. Subsequent albums such as Live the Music, 10 Steps Forward, The Chapel, When House Was a House, and Mobi Tek earned critical recognition and award nominations. He has worked with several leading South African artists and continues to release music through his own imprint, Top Chap Media, while also supporting emerging talent.
