Journey
Before he became known on speakers and in taxis, Sicelo Sikhosana grew up in White City, Soweto, where everyday life was filled with rhythm and sound. At first, his focus was on football, but over time music became the path he followed.
His first exposure came through close work in the studio with Semi Tee and Kammu Dee. What others saw as a group was really a shared creative space where ideas flowed freely. In 2019, the track “Labantwana Ama Uber” changed everything for him. The song spread across taxis, clubs, and playlists, and the ad-lib “Yebo” became something people instantly recognized.
That success opened doors to other records like “SiyaTrenda” with Cassper Nyovest and “Gabadiya,” keeping his name present as the sound grew. In 2020, he chose to leave his management and collaborators over disagreements about credit and compensation, stepping out on his own.
Rebuilding took time, but he kept releasing music such as “Stance,” “AmaSandawana,” and “Forever Lona,” finding his way back. Later work like “Sweet Guluva” shows he still connects with the sound and culture that introduced him, even as he works independently.
Outside music, he has mentioned plans for business ventures, including a beverage brand, showing interests beyond the studio. Through all of it, Miano remains tied to the moment when Amapiano began reaching wider audiences.
