Mathabo, born Sthembile Zungu, is a South African artist and radio broadcaster working across recording, songwriting, and presenting. Her earliest recorded appearance dates back to 2003, when she was featured on Sliq Angel’s “If I Could Build My Whole World,” released through Sony BMG Music Entertainment Africa.
Her independent direction became clearer years later. In 2019, she appeared on “Found You” by Mr Mo and Echo12, marking the start of her modern recording phase. From there, she began establishing a solo identity with releases such as “African” in 2020 and “Uzongidinga” in 2024.
Alongside music, she has built a strong presence in radio, working with platforms like ImpulsRadio and Deeplomateek Radio while hosting Soul Sessions With Mathabo. Her work connects studio recording with broadcasting, positioning her as both a performer and a media voice within South African music culture.
