Tokelo Moyakhe, professionally known as Maglera Doe Boy, is a critically acclaimed South African rapper and songwriter. Raised in the Kanana township of Klerksdorp, his upbringing heavily influenced his self-styled "Strata" sound, which fuses traditional Motswako lyricism with a gritty, Kwaito-infused flow.
Moyakhe initially captured underground attention with his 2015 debut extended play, "Progression", and his 2019 follow-up, "2Player". He quickly gained wider traction by pairing up with 25K and DJ Sliqe for the joint collaborative projects "Champion Music" and "Champion Music 2". A show-stopping guest appearance on the chart-topping anthem "Never Ride" propelled him into nationwide superstardom.
In 2022, he dropped his landmark debut solo studio album, "Diaspora", featuring the single "Pelo". The project was heralded as a modern hip-hop masterpiece, earning him the Best Male Artist trophy at the South African Hip Hop Awards. He continued his prolific run by releasing the full-length project "MAGLERA TAPES" alongside the popular track "Ntja'ka".
Known for delivering unforgettable verses and standalone singles, his extensive catalog includes notable releases such as "FREE ME", "Itching", "iBele", and "Hermano". With his single "Motho Waka", Maglera Doe Boy continues to bridge the gap between street-level artistry and mainstream dominance, remaining a definitive pillar of South African hip-hop.
