Journey
Loki Rothman stands as one of South Africa’s most brilliant musical exports, recognized globally as a master guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and film composer. Born in Cape Town, his journey is an extraordinary story of resilience. Rothman was born with syndactyly, a condition where his fingers were completely fused together. He endured 23 surgical procedures as a child to gain functionality in his hands, ultimately turning what could have been a limitation into a world-class gift for intricate, lightning-fast acoustic fingerstyle and heavy rock guitar.
He first captivated South African audiences in 2009 during the inaugural season of "SA's Got Talent", where his technical precision carried him straight to the finals. Following this breakthrough, Rothman joined forces with acclaimed rap icon Jack Parow, serving as his primary live guitarist and touring prestigious festival stages across Europe and the Middle East.
As a solo artist, Rothman possesses a rare chameleonic ability to jump between commercial pop, acoustic instrumentals, and heavy rock. His debut album, "The Way Back", earned critical acclaim and a South African Music Award (SAMA) nomination.
Beyond his center-stage performances, Rothman is a powerhouse behind the scenes. From his Cape Town studio, he has produced for major artists like Die Antwoord and composed award-winning scores for prominent Afrikaans feature films like "Vergeet My Nie", solidifying his status as an industry visionary.
