Dominique Armani Jones, better known by his stage name Lil Baby, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter who has become one of the most prominent figures in contemporary hip-hop. Born on 3 December 1994 in Atlanta, Georgia, he grew up in the city's Oakland City neighborhood. Although he did not initially plan to pursue a music career, encouragement from friends and figures within Atlanta's music scene inspired him to begin recording professionally.
Lil Baby started gaining attention in 2017 with the release of mixtapes such as "Perfect Timing," "Harder Than Hard," and "Too Hard." His single "My Dawg" became a breakthrough hit and helped him build a strong fan base. His rapid rise continued with the release of his debut studio album "Harder Than Ever" in 2018, which featured the successful song "Yes Indeed" with Drake.
His second studio album, "My Turn," released in 2020, became one of the year's biggest commercial successes and solidified his place among hip-hop's leading artists. Songs such as "We Paid" and "The Bigger Picture" received widespread acclaim, with the latter earning praise for addressing social issues.
Over the years, Lil Baby has collaborated with artists including Drake, Drake, Lil Durk, Lil Durk, and Gunna, Gunna. He has won major industry awards, including a Grammy Award, and has established himself as both a successful performer and entrepreneur through his record label.
