Kagiso Makhubela, stage name Komplexity, is a South African singer, songwriter, producer, and composer from Soshanguve in Pretoria. He emerged within the country’s soulful and deep house movement, building a reputation for emotionally driven vocals, melodic songwriting, and genre versatility. He discovered his passion for music at age 7, heavily inspired by his mother's love of Soul and Rhythm & Blues (R&B), and later transitioned to electronic and house music production. His stage name reflects his belief in artistic versatility and his refusal to be confined to a single sound or style.
Komplexity gained broader recognition through collaborations with producers and DJs, including DJ Fortee, DJ Vitoto, Lulo Cafe, and Abidoza. His partnership with DJ Fortee led to the formation of KomFort Blendz™, a collaboration that contributed to the House Africa Sessions compilation distributed under Sony. The project helped establish his presence in South Africa’s house music scene and introduced his music to a wider commercial audience.
In 2014, he released his debut album "Inkomplete" and a collaborative EP with DJ Bakk3 titled "Two Streets" in 2017. "July Baby Vol. 2" was released in 2021, and Vol. 3 in 2023. In 2025, he released another album, "Melophilia," which includes the popular tracks "Sobabili", "More To Life", and "Khanyisa". His latest release, "M.O.T.H (Matters Of The Heart)" (2026) is a 6-track album featuring songs like "It's You" and "Incwadi." He has also released tracks such as “Bittersweet,” “Deep in the Dark,” “Keep Walking,” “Children of the Hustle,” and “How Deep Is Your Love.”
Beyond recording, he has performed on platforms including Metro FM, YFM, Power FM, and SABC1, and has shared stages with artists such as Cassper Nyovest, Kwesta, and Black Motion.
