Journey
Born in Soweto on 19 March 1986, Kelello Segoana, widely recognized as Kaylow, has built a path as a singer, songwriter, and producer whose work moves between soul, R&B, house, and African-inspired rhythms. Early exposure to music within his environment played a key role in the direction he later pursued, developing an approach that leans on emotion, structure, and musical depth.
His professional journey took shape in 2009, when he gained wider attention through a collaboration with Darque on the track "Difference," recorded in London. That moment introduced him to a broader audience and opened doors to further recording opportunities.
In 2014, his debut album "Reach Out" introduced a clear artistic identity, with "The Soul Café" standing out as one of its defining tracks. The project positioned him as a voice with a strong sense of direction and musical intent. In 2017, "War for Love" followed, strengthening his presence within South African music circles and earning him the Best Male Vocalist award at the country’s first Dance Music Awards.
A serious car accident in 2024 marked a difficult period in his journey, but he later returned to music with renewed focus and commitment to his craft.
Today, Kaylow stands as an artist whose work reflects consistency, emotional depth, and a strong connection to storytelling through music. His catalogue continues to reflect experiences drawn from Soweto’s cultural backdrop and his personal evolution as a recording artist.
