Hailing from Northam, Limpopo, Hlongwane moved to Pretoria to study at Boston Media House, where he balanced academics with a burgeoning career as a resident DJ for televised youth programs like Shiz Live. His early tenacity was rewarded in 2016 when he won the MTN "Light Up the Stage" talent search, catapulting him onto the stage of Cassper Nyovest’s historic Fill Up Orlando Stadium concert.
K-Zaka’s artistry is defined by the "Kaizen" concept a Japanese philosophy of constant growth. This theme anchors his extensive discography, specifically his celebrated album series: Kaizen II (2023), Kaizen III (2024), and the chart-topping Kaizen IV (2025). He has mastered the "3Step" genre, a rhythmic evolution of house music that has swept the continent. His notable tracks include "Ngiyakhumbula" with Focalistic, "Chelete (Zaka)," and the 2026 release "Mngani Wam' (Skeem Saam)."
