Jordan Michael Houston III, known to the world as Juicy J, is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer, and record executive from Memphis, Tennessee. A founding architect of the Southern hip-hop sound, he has operated at the intersection of hip-hop, Memphis rap, crunk, and trap across more than two decades of recorded output. His career began taking shape through Three 6 Mafia, the Southern hip-hop group he co-founded in 1991, which became a defining force in the regional sound that would eventually influence mainstream rap broadly.
As both a solo artist and collaborator, Juicy J has built a catalog spanning multiple independent and major label imprints, including Trippy Music LLC, Mass Appeal, Hypnotize Minds Productions, North North Records, and WATERPROOF COLORS, among others. His solo discography includes releases such as MONEYFLY, MUSIC DEALER, SOMK, and Work (Remixes), the last of which features contributions from Nelly and Ashanti.
His collaborative range has extended to artists including DJ Paul, Wiz Khalifa, Katy Perry, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Nelly, Ashanti, and Project Pat, positioning him across crunk, trap, and pop crossover spaces with consistent commercial and critical relevance. Three 6 Mafia's single "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp" brought the group an Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2006, a landmark moment for hip-hop's recognition at that platform.
