John Nzenze was a Kenyan guitarist and musician. Nzenze began playing his father's guitar at the age of 12. He collaborated with Daudi Kabaka, and they recorded three hit songs “Safari Tanganyika,” “Bachelor Boy,” and “Nyumba za Tobacco.'' Nzenze's musical success extended beyond Kenya. He toured Japan, Britain, and various East African countries. In 1968, he represented Kenya at the All African Music Festival in Algeria, finishing third. Nzenze's dedication and talent were recognized in 2009 when he received a Head of State Commendation award from President Mwai Kibaki. Nzenze passed away in 2020, after undergoing stomach surgery.
